Every other year, Egyptian Electric Cooperative partners with the Jackson County Health Department to host an Electronics Recycling and Document Shredding Day at our Murphysboro headquarters. In 2024, we’re excited to expand the event by offering battery recycling and prescription disposal as well!
Please refer to the flyer below for a list of acceptable and unacceptable items for recycling or disposal. The event is open to non-business individuals, with a limit of 10 electronic items per vehicle.
Document shredding will be done on-site, making it the perfect time to clear out old files and confidential documents like tax returns, bank statements, and insurance papers. We can also shred emptied manila folders, and paper clips, staples, and small plastic binders are accepted.
No appointments are necessary, and the event is open to everyone in our service territory, including non-member consumers of Egyptian Electric Cooperative.
