Each year, Egyptian Electric Cooperative Association (EECA) awards ten $1,000 scholarships to eligible students as part of our commitment to supporting higher education in the communities we serve. Applicants must be full-time, or soon-to-be full-time, college students who are dependents of EECA consumer-members who have received electric service from EECA for at least one year prior to the Annual Meeting.
Scholarship recipients are selected through a random drawing held during EECA’s Annual Meeting of the Members each July at our Murphysboro headquarters. To be eligible, both the student and the account-holding parent or legal guardian must attend the Annual Meeting. This attendance requirement is a longstanding part of the program and reflects one of the scholarship’s founding purposes: introducing students and their families to the cooperative business model while demonstrating EECA’s commitment to education and the communities we serve.
Because many applicants have competing obligations, EECA maintains a consistent policy that attendance by both the student and the account holder is required, with no exceptions. Students who are unable to attend are encouraged to apply again in a future year.

2026 Annual Meeting Scholarship Winners
Congratulations to our 2026 Annual Meeting Scholarship winners! During EECA’s 88th Annual Meeting of the Members, the following ten students were selected to each receive a $1,000 scholarship to support their academic endeavors:

- Bryce Edwards — 2025 Murphysboro High School graduate; attending Quincy University
