Operation Round Up 2024

EECA Highlights Operation Round Up’s 2024 Impact in Annual Report

Thank you to our consumer-members who have provided support for our 501(c)3 organization, Operation Round Up! This generosity has allowed our membership and employees to collectively give back to organizations doing meaningful work in Southern Illinois.

When members round up their monthly bill or otherwise give, it may seem like a small contribution, but together, it makes a meaningful difference in the lives of many in our communities—raising an impressive $15,958.74 and awarding 18 grants since the program’s inception in 2020. This year, part of the funds raised were through our employee-driven EECA t-shirt campaign featuring the slogan ” Proudly Powering Rural Southern Illinois.” Shirts are still available for $20 —call our office to purchase yours and we’ll ship it to you! All proceeds continue to benefit Operation Round Up.

In 2024 alone, Operation Round Up received $5,394.41 in donations and awarded $7,250 in grant funds to support seven impactful causes. These grants provided local nonprofits with funding to help purchase baby supplies, hygiene items for families in need, school supplies for children, resources for counselors working with local youth, maintenance of local hiking trails, and broader support for organizations that compassionately care for people across Southern Illinois.

Please help EECA spread the word about this program – not only to those who have yet to enroll, but also to organizations that could benefit from Operation Round Up support. Learn more on how to apply for these funds here.

Please note that EECA does not claim these donations as a tax write-off. All donations are made entirely in the name of our generous members to this separate charitable organization. Thank you once again for your ongoing support of this community initiative. Together, we’re making Southern Illinois stronger!
