EECA Announces Delegates for Youth Tour 2025

MURPHYSBORO, IL – Egyptian Electric Cooperative Association (EECA) is excited to announce the recipients of this year’s scholarships for Youth Tour to Washington, D.C. have been chosen!

Madison Voss from Murphysboro High School and Harlan Whiteford from Marion High School have been selected as the bright young leaders to represent EECA this summer alongside students from electric cooperatives across the nation.

Each year, EECA proudly sponsors two high school students from within its service territory for this unique opportunity. Madison and Harlan will join over 1,500 students for a week of sightseeing, social networking, and learning about the cooperative business model. During the tour, they will also visit historical and cultural sites and engage with lawmakers to discuss issues important to them and their communities.

For over 57 years, more than 50,000 young Americans have taken part in the NRECA’s Electric Cooperative Youth Tour, sponsored by local electric cooperatives like EECA. This program has grown into an invaluable leadership experience, providing young people with knowledge and connections that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

EECA extends its congratulations to Ms. Voss and Mr. Whiteford on their selection and looks forward to hearing about the positive impact these experiences will have on their leadership journeys.
