$500 Classroom Grant Applications Open to 11/2

It’s that time of the year, Egyptian Electric Cooperative is again offering our Touchstone Energy Classroom Empowerment Grants to the local schools within our service territory! We continue to be aware that adequate funding for many school systems has been a challenge. Commitment to Community is one of our Touchstone Energy core principles, and we are committed to the communities we serve and want to continue to provide assistance to you.

There will again be TEN $500 Classroom Empowerment Grants that will be awarded to teachers/school administrators for the 2020/2021 school year, to public and private K-12 schools, to support classroom projects that will improve educational opportunities for students. Winning applications will be based on projects that best serve the purpose of improving the learning environment and/or increasing educational resources for the students. Applicants and schools are eligible to apply every year, regardless if they have been a previous recipient. Please note, that the school or district does NOT have to receive electric service from Egyptian Electric Cooperative to qualify.

For application, visit our Classroom Grant page to download application and learn more.

Applications are not limited to public schools, but public schools within our territorial footprint are: Marissa, Sparta, Chester, Pinckneyville, Murphysboro, Elverado, Trico, Carbondale, Steeleville, Red Bud, Carterville and Coulterville.

How to apply? 1) Read the information form, 2) complete the one-page application, 3) include a type-written request, and 4) return to me by the deadline! The grant submissions are due Monday, November 2nd and winners will be notified on or before December 11, 2020. Please contact me at (800) 606-1505 or bguthman@eeca.coop should you have any questions.
