Competitive benefit package. Conditions, compensation, and additional benefit details of all inside (clerical, engineering, warehouse) union and outside (linework, forestry, mechanic) union positions are listed in contract with IBEW 702.

Benefits & Compensation

Benefits are an important part of an employee’s total compensation. Together, benefits and competitive compensation make up an employee’s total compensation package, which assists in building a financially secure foundation for our employees and their families. Healthcare Plans

Medical plans that include prescription, dental and vision cover a wide range of services for employees at a minimal cost, including preventative healthcare coverage and employee assistance programs. Depending on their position, employees may also be offered a health savings account and flexible spending account.

Paid Time Off

Full-time employees are offered paid time off based on years of service and position classification. All active, full-time employees will receive eleven (11) paid holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, President’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Work hours consist of an 8-hour workday Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute paid lunch.

Retirement Plan

EECA utilizes the NRECA Retirement & Security Plan that is a defined contribution pension aimed at an age 60 plan. The pension plan is 100% employer funded and designed to provide you with a regular, dependable source of income at retirement with flexible options of payout when you retire.

401(k) Plan

EECA also has an employer matching 401(k) Plan that allows you to save a portion of your salary to supplement your pension plan with several types of investment options to choose including pre-tax and Roth options. EECA pays 3% base, with an up to additional 4% match to an employee’s contribution of gross wages. Plans can be self-managed or through target portfolios. NRECA also offers financial advisors to assist you at no cost.

Supplemental Insurance

Employees are automatically covered by basic life benefits at three (3) times base salary at no cost to the employee. Dependent insurance for spouse and/or children is also provided, and EECA pays 50% of the $10,000 base coverage. EECA also pays 100% of the premium for Business Travel Accident insurance. Additional insurance options are available such as additional supplemental life, long-term disability, accidental death & dismemberment, and family insurance at a minimal cost to the employee to protect your family based on your needs. Will preparation & legal services are reimbursable based on current plan availabilities.

Credit Union

Effective on the first day of employment, you can become a member of the IEC Financial Credit Union (IECFCU) by completing an enrollment card and making a deposit of at least $5.00. Withholdings from your pay can be automatically transferred to your account(s), where you also have access to exclusive rates for loans and shares through the Cooperative Choice Network Credit Union.
